Now we get to the issue, well just how toxic has it become and why is it becoming that way ??
First off I like to point out that at some point most FPS games or shooters in general gain some level of toxicity, whether it's a small little bit (like say Fortnite) or it's incredibly excessive (like say Call of Duty or Apex), toxicity in the shooter series is a big thing. However, there are certain games that manage to avoid it or at least it's not as noticeable, an example being Overwatch and I THOUGHT Valorant. I have had nothing but great experiences with Valorant, however, I've put more time in than before lately and noticed a visible change in the community.
What was once a community that was willing to help people out and learn new operators, willing to show you how to use guns, build a proper crosshair (which luckily my friend helped with but others helped refine it more), communicate during the game with you, not be a terrible person while in game or communicating, willing to joke around and have a laugh about the skin prices or games in general. All of that has become a terrible mess of degeneracy, inappropriate comments and language, people not being helpful or understanding, people constantly harassing others, just a general mess. It's why I can't stream the game despite wanting to, I can't trust people in game chat to not be racist or phobic of some kind. I could say it's become just like every other game made by its parent company RIOT! but that's not fair as it is not nearly as toxic and unwelcoming as League of Legends.
I can only hope for better days and a return to the Valorant that I was used to playing or maybe if friends of mine were interested in playing then it'd be less toxic and a problem that's what I can only hope for. I try to be the guy in the picture below and spread as much niceness as I can in the community and hopefully help it change even a bit by bit per match I'm in; I can't make everything perfect but I can try my best.
