Okay so why do I feel this way about Skyrim, well it's simple, while it does have a good main story it's side missions are so lacking in comparison to Morrowind and ESPECIALLY Oblivion that it loses a lot of its ground as "the best". Oblivion has the perfect balance, a good main story and perfectly long side missions with heavy interesting ideas; it is the best in the series no doubt. Sure the combat has improved in Skyrim and the graphics slightly over previous entries but a game that came out 4 years after its previous entry I would hope it improves. People hold Skyrim on such a high pedestal and though it is good it definitely doesn't deserve the hype it has and Bethesda has managed to milk every last cent out of the hype that people have built of nothing.
Fallout 3 is the most overrated game in that franchise, with New Vegas being far superior, why do I say that ?? Bethesda is terrible at writing stories to be honest, Obsidian did a fantastic job in New Vegas with the story, factions, backstory, everything. Bethesda's world in Fallout 3 is just bland: bland characters, bland story, bland ending (which is only resolved in DLC). Another BIG issue I have with the game is the colour palette: gunmetal grey, dog shit brown, blood, and green it is an absolutely horrible looking game to begin with and then add the fact that the game is essentially in 4 colours with a few accent colours. Compare that to New Vegas, which still looks like trash graphics wise but it's still a colourful wasteland as is Fallout 4; shit EVEN Fallout 76 looks good in comparison COLOURWISE next to 3.
