Here's some of what I thought.
First off, with the way Watch Dogs: Legion is set up in premise as a game, it has to be played in Permadeath mode. You can choose your difficulty from there (Easy, Normal, Hard) but Permadeath has to be a thing because it suits the way this games story is set. Why do I say that ?? Well because unlike previous Watch Dogs games you aren't a set protagonist. You aren't Aiden Pierce with his Chicago Dedsec crew, you aren't Marcus Holloway with his hipster San Francisco Dedsec crew; no instead Dedsec in London are being treated as a terrorist organization and only one member remains from the original crew. She is then tasked with rebuilding Dedsec from square one to re-take London for the people, all while having to hide in the shadows so the mega-corporation can't find her. Which is why using her hacker skills she finds you, who are you, who knows it gave me a choice of 15 different people to start with, each with a different "ability" and a funny backstory. I don't mean super in-depth backstory though like my first character Taanya Thakur, occupation: babysitter, interesting fact: Permanently banned from the London zoo, special ability: has an MP5. From there it's my characters job to find and help rebuild Dedsec and take down "the evil corporation" Albion that has a vice on London and some other hacker collective that framed Dedsec. I literally went out and explored London, grabbed tech points to upgrade my character, found a bunch of side missions to recruit more Dedsec members, etc. What I do suggest when you are looking for new recruits is to definitely take a look at what they bring to the group: do they bring unique weapons, do they bring unique skills, do they have issues. I haven't recruited her yet but I scouted a girl who's main selling point was that she always has a silenced pistol. There is a homeless man that I want to recruit because he can panhandle to get Dedsec money. A guy who was walking the streets like a crazy person with ridiculous hair and his stats were basically "he is crazy good at hitting people" so I plan to get him and give him these electro-punch gloves to destroy fools. I suggest getting at least 5 people BEFORE starting the main missions, I say that in case your main character dies right away so you don't need to restart from the very beginning yet. And make sure either your starting guy or one of those initial 5 recruits has an actual gun that shoots bullets because otherwise it's just stun-guns and I find them much less effective. This is a game of just great moments, that's the best part about it, every character can have a moment that you unintentionally stumbled upon or accidentally created. Not something pre-scripted for Aiden or Marcus like in the other Watch Dogs games. It's that ability that makes this game feel more like an actual world, more like real world London, than a scripted game.
It is definitely a game I plan to sink more time into and it looks and runs okay, minus some heating issues on the Xbox One, but I can't wait for my free upgrade to the Series X. It's going to be a nice game to play at launch on that system. It's just fantastic really.
