Our main character in the show, Iori, goes to live at his uncles house so he can go to college in their city and at the same time he ends up living with his two very attractive cousins Chisa and Nanaka, that already sounds like one of those weird Japanese "awkward love stories" but it isn't. Instead what happens is Iori's first thing upon arriving at the Grand Blue diving shop his uncle owns is he meets his seniors Tokita and Kotobuki, who immediately sign him up for their diving club......or drinking club....or diving/drinking club, Iori goes from 0 to naked along with the others right quick. Which is a recurring theme, along with his eventual engineering program friend Kohei, they constantly get drunk and go from 0 to naked along with Toki and Buki on a regular basis. Even the shows eventual trip to Okinawa for "diving" was really their excuse to go there for a specific Okinawan drinking tradition. However everyone at the club do take diving very seriously when they do go out to do it and the amount of scuba specific things touched on is very impressive: hand signals, how certain parts of the gear work, how to clear your mask underneath the ocean, etc. When Chisa gets embarrassed by Iori during a pageant (he's passed out) she says, "sorry about my loser boyfriend" which then turns the glare of every guy in the engineering program at Iori and by association Kohei as well. That's the clip below. That moment leads to a lot of hilarity in later episodes because it created a group of loser friends that the two got involved with all of whom are loser, girlfriendless, virgins like them.
I like just about everything about Grand Blue. The characters are fantastic from the main characters to the minor characters everyone serves a purpose and is interesting and unique. Iori is a normal person but also a degenerate. Toki and Buki are kind and caring but also relentlessly alcoholic. Kohei is a hopeless otaku obsessed with 2D girls. Chisa is a sweetheart but slightly masochistic. Nanaka is a normal, kind girl but has a sis-com. Azusa is the dream girl of the group who's also not afraid to act like one of the boys. Aina is a normal girl, who had a weird makeup phase, but she's honestly the only normal person in the club. Then all of the side characters are fantastic as well. I love the art and like Hinamatsuri it does the thing where it goes from regular anime style to extremely over exaggerated faces and expressions in a different art style very quickly to emphasize comedy or other emotional situations. And honestly my favourite thing was the comedy, it was really funny, not many anime have actually gotten me to chuckle or laugh but this one did. My only bad thing to say about Grand Blue was that it was only 12 episodes, which is why I picked up the manga to start reading because this way if they don't do a 2nd season at least I'll see what the club gets up to.

Angels of Death is a show that I really enjoyed because of it's dark story and twisted characters. The premise is the main character Rachel Gardener wakes up suddenly on the bottom floor of a building in a hospital room and is declared a "sacrifice". She proceeds to make her way upwards in floors as she is in the basement and wants to leave. The first floor she stops at and where she has to get out on is the floor belonging to Issac "Zack" Forester, a serial killer with a giant scythe, who tries to murder Rachel up and down is floor until she escapes and then he decides he wants to leave to so he's going to take the elevator up. While that happens Rachel has a flashback and decides, I want to die, so she goes to Zack. They make a promise with each other, if Ray can help Zack escape and she can make a good smile with her face then he'll kill her, to which she readily agrees and so they make their way upwards in the building. Encountering many different characters: Eddie the Gravedigger who wants to kill Rachel and bury her perfectly, Dr. Danny who wants to take Rachel's blue eyes, Cathy the masochist jailkeeper who has sick games for Rachel and Zack to play to escape her floor, and the Priest who is merely a bystander that passes judgement on all. Every floor is a different situation and story that Rachel and Zack, the odd pair they are, have to escape from and it leads them down several different paths. Play the game or watch the show to see what happens because if I tell you what happens that ruins the fun. Oh and Nobuhiko Okamoto, better known for his role as Bakugo in My Hero Academia, is the voice of Zack and his level of craziness in the way he can voice act definitely carries over well. Ya, I enjoyed the show and I'm still going through the game on my Switch.

All of Season 3 has been great and I'm looking forward to seeing how things are going forward. There was one episode during the season that was a lead in towards the movie that I saw in theatres and that was well worth the money. If you haven't seen that I suggest checking it out when it's released.
