I'm then going to go over a little about each girl, what I thought about them, and if I figured they would end up as "the one".
I like Itsuki but to me she was very much the "typical" girl in this type of show and the reason I just expected her to be the final girl is due to massive cliches. Her personality is not as tsundere as her other sister Nino but it was still too much for me and I think that's kind of what made her my least favourite sister.
CHANCES OF HER BEING "THE ONE" = HIGH
DID I WANT HER TO BE "THE ONE" = NO
I didn't initially like Nino, because of her cold attitude towards Futaro, but once it started to become more of a tsundere attitude she became more of a character you begin to like. She shows signs of vulnerability when she is around Futaro's "cousin" (Futaro dressed as his childhood self) and other issues she has. Nino also becomes someone that not only her sisters, but Futaro, come to depend on, so even though I wasn't a fan at first I came to like her but she wasn't my favourite.

I love Yotsuba, I was going to say one of the best but there's only five, but she is one of the best sisters. Her personality makes her undeniably easy to like. The bubbly, happiness is infectious and she's a great character. One that you do feel sad for because you, like Futaro, feel she might being taken advantage of because of how nice she is. Yotsuba is definitely great.
CHANCES OF HER BEING THE ONE = LOW
DID I WANT HER TO BE THE ONE = SHE'D HAVE BEEN GOOD BUT NOT HER
I really like Ichika, she is a cute and responsible girl, though she tries to hide everything from everyone she is just a giant softy. Her personality is super pleasant and her mature attitude is what makes her a great compliment to Futaro. I think my favourite Ichika moments are when Futaro helps her with her acting interview and she shows a genuine smile for the first time and her manager suggested something or someone changed her world. The other is when they end up locked up together and she has this heart skip moment when Futaro saves her life. She is a great character, definitely my second favourite in the show.

DID I WANT HER TO BE THE ONE = SHE'D HAVE BEEN GREAT BUT NOT HER
Miku is by far, my favourite sister of the quintuplets. She gives off the vibes of a very smart, quiet, nerdy girl who likes being herself no matter how weird she is (and being into feudal Japanese warlords is pretty weird but it's her hobby). She is the only sister that comes across like a genuine person to me, while Yotsuba seems more like comic relief and Ichika takes a bit to open up, Miku is basically a normal girl from the moment we meet her. And that's what makes her great. Also I'm a big fan of her design, the sweater, skirt, headphones around neck, long hair, plays video games look.
CHANCES OF HER BEING THE ONE = MEDIUM
DID I WANT HER TO BE THE ONE = YES, ABSOLUTELY MIKU 100% DID I WANT TO WIN
1) MIKU
2) ICHIKA
3) YOTSUBA
4) NINO
5) ITSUKI
Honestly, even though I wanted it to be Miku, even early on I thought the girl that is absolutely the coldest to Futaro is the one that will find something absolutely endearing about him and something that will bring them together. And as I was reading the manga I definitely saw that as Futaro does so much to help out Nino: pretending to be Futaro's cousin (a blonde from Nino's past that was actually a young Futaro), helping her get better grades, enjoying her cooking, fixing her fights with Itsuki, and most importantly helping her escape the "clutches" of her fathers tight and controlling grasp. He does all of these things and more for Nino with no ulterior motives, just like with the other girls, and she does see him in a different light slowly. By the time they are on their school trip she already sees him as an important person and early on she tsundere moments lying to her father about passing grades to help Futaro keep his job. But the father moment, helping her with that (what I don't want to spoil), that's what legitimately got Nino to say to Futaro, "I love you". And when I saw that, I knew that yes by this point Miku and Ichika loved him but neither had come out and said anything, but Nino was point blank.
But I was wrong.......it didn't end up being Nino..........
I WARNED YOU...........CUZ I'M STARTING WITH A PICTURE BEFORE WORDS OF WHO ACTUALLY DOES WIN THE FUTARO WIFE COMPETITION..............
Yotsuba is the Nakano sister that ends up marrying Futaro.
Despite not being the first of the quintuplets to confess their love and feelings for Futaro, she does eventually make it known to him and in a bizarre twist that I didn't see coming she ended up being the girl from the photo Futaro kept on him always. It turns out that the reason she never told him about it is that they promised back then to get great grades and great jobs and while Futaro was doing that she was the exact opposite, a failure. She decides to just move on when he becomes their tutor, to listen to what he has to say, and try her best to improve; a small way to make up for her failure. Slowly a problem happens. Her sisters, first Miku, then Ichika, Nino, and finally Itsuki all develop feelings for Futaro and pursue him; that's where the selfless attitude she has becomes her Achilles heel. She was still in love with him and had been since they made that promise, she never forgot him, but her sisters do end up encouraging her to say what she feels. Slowly but surely Futaro notices her and he chooses her of all the sisters but that still leaves Yotsuba with guilt because of just how much she knows Miku and Nino love him; before she accepts his offer to be his girlfriend she has to talk to her sisters. They both understand though you can tell they are hurting. After that, well, happy endings for them. Yotsuba and Futaro end up getting married and even like the "we'll be together forever" as all five girls held his hand during the fireworks ceremony; being married to one means the others are never far behind.
So even though the clip below was a lie at the time, it actually was immense foreshadowing.
And I loved the first season's anime, love the manga, so I hope come October we see some of those great manga pages come to life via animation once again, and it looks like a new studio doing the animation with a more faithful to the manga look to the characters. I can't wait to see what I already know is awesome turn into great animation.
