One of the most talked about feuds in all of professional wrestling is that between two of the Four Horsewomen. That being the feud in years prior between Bayley and Sasha Banks. These two incredibly talented women proved they are some of the best wrestlers in the company (that's regardless of gender, just pure wrestlers) in their massive bouts in NXT that absolutely tore the house down. We've been ingrained ever since their move to the main roster that we were going to receive Bayley vs Sasha again; another match to tear the roof of the building. WWE played up the fact the two are real-life best friends into most everything they've done on the main roster, including becoming the Inagural WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. Basically, while it was teased here and there that one of them, probably Sasha because Bayley was too marketable a face, would turn heel on the other and beat them up leading into the Bayley vs Sasha feud we all wanted. WWE never pulled the trigger..............................until now.
HOWEVER.................
Now is not the time for this feud in any way, shape, or form.
Why though ?? If this is what people have wanted since they got called up to the main roster, if this is what we all wanted to see another amazing match between two amazing competitors, why is now a bad time ?? Well, there's a simple answer to that question and it generally has to do with professional wrestling as a whole right now and that is the lack of a crowd. While I find that the "thunder dome" idea that WWE has created at the Amway Center in Orlando a neat idea, giving the fans the ability to buy seats to be be broadcast on large LED screens to be part of a "crowd"; I find that it looks neat and is an interesting idea but it lacks one thing. Heart.
And that to me was the essence of what made the other Bayley vs Sasha Banks matches so good. Not only were the wrestlers themselves putting on the performances of their lives but they were so good that they worked the crowd into a frenzy, people were genuinely excited, amazed at what they saw, awed at the fact they were witnessing wrestling history in the making. Because you know when certain matches will go down in WWE history: Andre vs Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart vs Steve Austin, and Bayley vs Sasha Banks is no different. The Thunderdome is great and all but it lacks all of that, the heart and soul of a real crowd, the fact that you can't get a live pop from real people, not being able to potentially toss your opponent over a guard rail into unsuspecting fans, getting fans reactions as you destroy their favourite wrestler or taunting them.
A real crowd was just as important to both Sasha vs Bayley matches as the quality of the women fighting each other. Even in the clip above, if Bayley did that in front of a real crowd, the pop would be deafening because no one would see it coming at all. I understand that WWE needs television and with Sasha Banks going to do The Mandalorian Season 2 that she had to lose the RAW Women's Title and the Women's Tag Championship but to set up one of the most significant feuds in the business to lead out of that, in a time where we are unable to watch them live. I just find is probably one of the worst decisions they can make as a company and if they don't see that, they don't understand the lightning in a bottle and what made Bayley vs Sasha so good the other times. If this was still NXT then Triple H would understand and have no problem waiting on this gold mine but since it's main roster it is Vince's idea and since he doesn't really understand wrestling I can see how he might think it is a great idea. But it really isn't.
Well we know it's going to happen now. Bayley vs Sasha Banks. Honestly, more than likely for Bayley's SmackDown Women's Championship. What does everyone think is going to happen this time around ?? I believe that they have two matches, one were Bayley retains her title, holds it for awhile longer, before Sasha beats her in the 2nd match.

If you want to see those old "classic" Bayley vs Sasha matches, here they are.
