It has finally happened and I'm glad the day has come, Bray Wyatt is the WWE Champion. This is not a day I thought would come to be honest, I'm a big fan of Bray and I honestly never thought the day would come where he would be the champ. This is a man who is the best heel in the company bar none, where you look and should be able to see the clear divide between the good guys and bad guys in wrestling the only constant has been Bray Wyatt. He is a monster in waiting and always has been, the man is charismatic, cuts great promos, leads the most unique faction in the WWE, is an amazing athlete for his size, the man that should honestly be "replacing" the Undertaker. Not to say that he is replaceable but as far as a dominant "dark presence" in the WWE once Mark Callaway has hung up his boots, Bray is the man that can step up to fill the void. There have always been several things preventing this, am I hopeful that recent circumstance and his current treatment has caused WWE to maybe see their mistakes? Probably. Will he continue to be that guy going forward? Hopefully. Is WWE that smart? No, unfortunately.
Bray Wyatt has always been on the tragic end of terrible booking, no matter what some people I know may say, WWE is god awful at booking matches, creating good angles/stories, or seeing the talent they have in front of them and properly fostering it. They have had Wyatt for years now and although his "Husky Harris" years as part of the Nexus were forgettable (we'd all like to forget that, including Bray), he hit the jackpot when coming up with the Bray Wyatt gimmick. The creation of the Wyatt Family provided us with not just one but three great heels, all of whom are extremely talented and if booked the right way would be the newest of the "great factions" like Evolution, DX, the nWo, the Horsemen, etc. You had Bray, the twisted leader of the group, a man fixated on destroying the WWE, the "Eater of Worlds", and someone who did all he did to find the love and acceptance of Sister Abigail the woman of the swamp who "saved" Bray and the other Wyatt members. She is missing from his life and he tries to gain her acceptance to bring her back to find her again. Luke Harper, a man who is silent yet an absolute monster, an incredibly athletic big man who has decimated some of the best in the company and his tag partner Erick Rowan who's sheer size makes him just massively intimidating, however injury always plagues Rowan.

However, like I said, terrible booking has crippled the Wyatt Family over the years. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan achieved a tiny amount of success having won the NXT Tag Titles and the WWE Tag Team Championship over their careers and Luke Harper has managed to win the Intercontinental Championship once when he broke away from the family and joined The Authority as muscle for some.......dumb reason I can't even remember. While they received a tiny amount of success, Bray never did, and even Harper and Rowan's tiny success meant nothing in the end.
Awful booking put the Wyatt family in the hole, they made Bray out to be a monster and then he'd always lose. He'd lose to everyone no matter how dominant they wanted to make him seem and no matter how good they made his promos look. You can't create a monster give it no fangs or claws and expect it to win a fight. Bray Wyatt needed to get wins upon wins to become a monster, aside from beating Daniel Bryan at Elimination Chamber one year in a good angle to get him to join the Wyatt Family, WWE's atrocious booking has done nothing but BURY not only a young talent like Bray Wyatt but other young talents like Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. They decided to add the Black Sheep to the Wyatt Family by bringing in Braun Strowman way before I believe he was even ready to wrestle in the WWE, needed to at least spend a bit more time in NXT first. Again, they booked him awfully and continued to book the entire Wyatt Family awfully time after time.
Then eventually came the surprisingly best thing possible for the Wyatt Family, the brand split. Most thought it was a given that when Bray was drafted to SmackDown Live that all other members would follow, yet WWE shocked when they sent Braun Strowman to RAW. Which meant that the domain of SmackDown Live belonged to the Wyatt Family, Luke Harper was sidelined with injury yet Bray and Erik managed to still maintain a presence. The same presence they always have.......get booked in a match they are meant to win because they are a monster heel, then lose.......constantly. They wanted to find a #1 Contender for Dean Ambrose's WWE Title and since AJ Styles was preoccupied at the time it ended up being Dolph Ziggler. Bray interfered with Dolph's matches consistently and then it was set, a match between the two where if Dolph lost, Bray was the #1 Contender. They could've pulled the gun then but didn't.
You had a heel absolutely demolishing a beloved babyface at every chance, a workhorse guy trying to beat the odds and win the title, why not crush his dreams and make Bray the #1 yet they didn't. In the end it ended up with Dean and AJ Styles feuding because they'd never pull the trigger on a Dolph title run either because he's another story. Instead, Bray got beat again, then Erick Rowan got hurt shortly after during the start of a feud between Bray and Randy Orton...........that is when things started to go right.

The start of the feud between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton led to several good things and one great one. The feud was back and forth, for once Bray picked up wins but Randy did as well. Now, Randy Orton may not be AS high on the pecking order as he once was BUT he is a multi-time WWE and World Heavyweight Champion, a main event guy, and beating him is still considered an accomplishment so that helped Bray in many ways. Having Bray beat so consistently over the years they honestly needed a steadfast I hate using the word for him already but "Legend" in Randy Orton for him to beat. As far as guys who could help Bray get over fast on the cripplingly small SmackDown Live roster the only guys were Randy Orton, John Cena, and AJ Styles. Fast forward to their match at Summer Slam and surprise the return of Luke Harper.............
Now for some odd reason, yet one that worked so well, Bray slowly grew on Randy and eventually Orton joined the "New Wyatt Family". Luke Harper clearly wasn't as pleased with this as Bray was but it created a dynamic amongst the three that was both explosive to those against them but could clearly implode at any moment. The stable kept beating people and piling on win after win.......how the Wyatt's always should have been.......then were given a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton vs Heath Slater & Rhyno and miraculously, they won..........they won the titles.
It was Bray Wyatt's first title in WWE, both Randy and Luke had gold before but until that title Bray never had held a title. For me and I'm sure many others, including Bray, it was honestly a feel good moment. The face Bray made here may seem like that of a typical Bray Wyatt but I guarantee he was giddy inside, small steps. Small steps.

It seemed like Bray was putting too much favouritism on Randy and not enough on Luke Harper, someone who has been loyal to him for far longer and was someone who said Bray & Sister Abigail saved his life. This led to clashes and butting heads between Orton and Harper on a regular basis and when they lost the tag titles because of a miscommunication between Harper, Orton, and Wyatt tempers continued to rise further.
Survivor Series happened and Bray managed to pick up the win for Team SmackDown, so even without titles they continued to make sure Bray was dominant. This was great for this angle, Randy & Harper are upset with each other so there is tears in the family already and Bray was slowly becoming more powerful with Orton on his side.
It became so bad that Bray finally laid down the law between the two and set up a match, Randy won and Bray even though he was pleased with Harper regardless gave him tough love with a Sister Abigail after the match. Thus, we've seen what I want to call the temporary disbanding of the Wyatt Family, however as long as Bray and Randy are together then the family still exists and this isn't the first time the family has fallen in shambles before.
I wondered where this was all going as we were headed into the Royal Rumble and towards Wrestlemania, I knew that it's going to lead to Orton vs Wyatt at Wrestlemania but how I said what can they do in the two or three months remaining? The ball started rolling when AJ Styles dropped the WWE Title to John Cena to tie Ric Flair's record amount of championships won. Then harsh interactions between Harper and Bray & Randy during the Rumble itself, leading all down to Orton winning the Rumble match and he is now able to challenge for the WWE Title OR if he wants he can challenge for the Universal Title though it will mean he ends up on RAW afterwards. With SmackDown's lack of roster depth there was no way they were planning on doing anything but having Randy challenge for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania.

That's when my mind started going a million miles a minute.........they won't do it on SmackDown I said but they will at Elimination Chamber, they can help set up Randy vs Bray @ Wrestlemania and get the title off Cena so he can A) go do his part-timer things and B) be in position to break Ric Flair's record. It just meant one thing.................
John Cena had to lose to Bray Wyatt, that Bray Wyatt would become WWE Champion. My head says "that makes so much sense, they have to do it for so many reasons" but again, WWE likes to book its matches fucking awfully so I held no hope. Alright, so he ends up in the Elimination Chamber match and hammers his way through putting on an amazing performance with all of the entrants, everyone putting up such a good show that whoever did win was going to come out looking strong especially with the calibre of talent in the Chamber.
That's when it happened and thank you WWE.........Bray Wyatt won the WWE Championship. He deserves it so much and this slow boiling Wyatt Family feud this year has helped him back on track along with good booking and some assistance from Randy Orton. Now like I mentioned, Orton may not be the huge main eventer he was a few years ago but hearing the name Randy Orton puts asses in seats and he's still a big name.....which means IF Bray beats him at Wrestlemania it will continue to cement him as a solid heel in the company and the forefront of SmackDown Live.
SO AS OF THIS POST: Bray was attacked by Luke Harper on SmackDown before defending his title against John Cena and AJ Styles, Bray retained his title and Randy Orton came out kneeled at his feet and pledged solidarity to his leader and vowed NOT to challenge for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania.
I also include this video as I'm so happy to see those Bray Wyatt plates go on that title, especially replacing John Cena ones.

ONE LAST BIT OF NEWS
As of late, it's clear that Erick Rowan will be returning to SmackDown soon after recovering from injury, will he side with Bray or Harper well I have a feeling we won't see him until Wrestlemania or after but definitely after Orton's betrayal and Luke Harper rejoining the family. Why am I so excited about Rowan's return, because of what he has been teasing through YouTube and Twitter.........how he found a new member of the Wyatt Family. A new member, a FEMALE member, and with it being so close to Bray's title victory and how he always claims he wants to please Sister Abigail what better time for Sister Abigail to show up. This video is a tinge creepy but I definitely have a strong suspicion that on Rowan's return we see the debut of Sister Abigail.

It's too late to book it like this for Sister Abigail but if you want to see an interesting take on How To Book Sister Abigail, this is a video that WhatCulture Pro Wrestling, though Erick Rowan's creepy vignettes are also quite interesting indeed.
